Designing Playground

Summer camp -Week 3

Playground Architecture of Play: Designing Playgrounds as Public Space

Play becomes serious architecture in this studio focused on movement, structure, and human scale. Students design playgrounds as architectural spaces—exploring ramps, platforms, bridges, climbing structures, and inclusive design. They learn how architecture can shape physical activity, social interaction, and imagination while balancing safety and challenge. The result is a playful yet highly architectural exploration of public space design.

Afternoon Enrichment: Build to Express – Creative Coaching with LEGO

In the afternoons, children will participate in the Build to Express Creative Coaching Program, a unique experience designed and facilitated by Sara Saebi, a Physics graduate and certified Transformational Coach. Using official LEGO® Education sets, storytelling, and guided reflection, children explore emotions, relationships, and creative problem-solving through hands-on building. This program blends science, creativity, and emotional intelligence—helping children express ideas, build confidence, and connect their imagination to real-life understanding.
